PROTESTS AGAINST CAPITALISM, WALL STREET VS. POST OFFICE PLEADS TO OPERATE MORE LIKE A BUSINESS

If you think the "Occupy Wall Street" movement is "grassroots" - think again.  At first, I found it very ironic and a true testament to what works and what does not, that as the US Postal Service is begging the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to be released from the government restrictions and mandates (both congressional and union) while the leftist-products of today's public school system are protesting against Capitalism and for government take-over of Wall Street, big business (on their own admission some of them do not know what they are protesting against).  On September 6, 2011, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe told the Senate committee that without enactment of legislation by the end of September (last month), the Postal Service faces default, as funds will be insufficient to make a congressionally mandated $5.5 billion payment to pre-fund retiree health benefits.


“The Postal Service is in a crisis today because it operates within a restrictive business model and has limited flexibility to respond to a changing marketplace,” Donahoe testified.  “We need the ability to operate more as a business does. This applies to the way we provide products and services, allocate resources, configure our retail, delivery and mail processing networks and manage our workforce.”


"Specifically, legislation is needed that would do the following:

• Resolve a unique law requiring the Postal Service to make $5.5 billion annual payments to pre-fund retirement health benefits
• Return $6.9 billion in Federal Employees Retirement System over payments
• Grant the Postal Service the authority to determine delivery frequency
• Allow the Postal Service to restructure its healthcare system to make it independent of federal programs
• Grant the Postal Service the authority to provide a defined contribution retirement plan for new hires, rather than today’s defined benefit plan
• Streamline the process for product development and pricing."

Additionally the Postal Service says it needs to reduce its career workforce by approximately 220,000 by 2015, but cannot do so under the terms of existing collective bargain agreements. To accelerate workforce reductions, the Postal Service is asking Congress to allow it to utilize the Reduction-in-Force (RIF) provisions currently applicable to federal competitive service employees for positions held by bargaining unit employees.


Thank you Mr. Donahoe for providing the facts of what is wrong with government and union mandates on businesses.  The Obama Health Care mandates haven't even been fully put in place and you are already asking to be released from them and those restrictions imposed on you by the failed leftist governmental and union policies of the past.

A union and a government run operation is under attack by within - someone wants to run it like a business to make it sustainable.  "Grassroots", "ironic", - I don't think so - a protest by unions/the left by design after this senate testimony against a failing government-run program is more like it.  Finally, MSNBC found a recruited "coffee party": they reported two years ago after the uprising of the Tea Party that the "coffee party" was looking for members.  This is so funny it is sad.

Update to previous (last post):  Obama's American Jobs Act has still not been co-sponsored (introduced) as a bill by a single Democrat in the House of Representatives.

AMERICAN JOBS ACT EVALUATION

I spent the weekend going over the President's "American Jobs Act" (which he is spending tax-payer money to go out and campaign for). There was so little for actual private sector jobs it was disturbing.


But even more disturbing, most of it applies to the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, The Republic of Palau, Guam, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico (page 26, 40, and others).  In one section it says Treasury will pay to each of these, amounts estimated by Treasury to be equal to the credit that would have been applied by this section (page 12) (because they don't actually otherwise qualify for the credit proposed?)....are you believing this?  But wait....


The main thrust of this bill is that it creates two new "Government Corporations" (now we have the government creating corporations instead of just departments); both will be charged will collecting fees to support their operations:


Establishment of the AIFA - American Infrastructure Financing Authority "established as a wholly owned Government Corporation".  Referred to then after as "The Bank" (pages 36-57). Establishment of The Public Safety Broadband Network Corporation (pages 62-91). Both have a Board of Directors, Chairperson, CEO, and all kinds of high-ranking positions required.

The Public Safety Broadband Network:  The bill says it is amending the Communications Act of 1934.  It may pay a licensee a portion of the proceeds to relocate to an alternate frequency...will provide funds to cover reasonable costs of relocating...will use auction and use competitive bidding to assign any license for domestic satellite communications, tv, and radio.  The commission may use an alternate approach to assignment of such licenses for the "public interest, convenience or necessity" (page 70).  Look out freedom of speech!

He threw the private sector a crumb by giving them a Payroll Tax Holiday for the calendar year of 2012 which says the government will take money from the general fund to make up the reduction in revenues for social security.  Are you believing this???

I found one good thing in the bill:  the extension of the 100% bonus depreciation for certain business assets.

The details:


Page 5 - if any provision of this Act is held invalid, the remainder shall not be affected (surely to be court challenges for taking over tv, wireless networks .ie. mobile phones, radio).


Page 6 - Payroll Tax Holiday for calendar year 2012 - the government will take money from the general fund to make up the reduction in revenues for social security.


Page 6 - All wages for paid laborers must be determined approved by the Secretary of Labor.


Page 6 - After January 1, 2013 there will be a 28% limitation on deductions for married making $250,000 or single making $200,000 (includes charitable deductions).


Page 6 - Prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of an individual status as unemployed.  (Can you say lawsuits against businesses!)


This bill pays for "Teacher Stabilization" (page 13-17) to rehire teachers that have been layed off, 25 billion for infrastructure rebuilding to public schools to make them "Green" (page 18-26), 5 billion for "surface transportation infrastructure" on all work designated by the Secretary as having high unemployment (page 35), 4 billion for high speed rail grants, 105 million for Puerto Rico Highway Program, 2 billion in grants for Amtrak, and "Project Rebuild" gets 15 billion for "purchase and rehabilitation of properties that have been abandoned" (page 58-62).

OBAMA WANTS YOU TO FORWARD E-MAILS OPPOSING HIM

Remember during the health care debate the White House asked citizens to forward e-mails to them that disagreed with or were giving misleading information about his health care bill (they used the word "fishy e-mails").  Well they quickly removed the website plea probably due to public outrage if I had to guess. 

Well they're at it again!   A website has been set-up for people to forward information that attacks Obama and his policies 'so they can get the facts and fight the smears'.

An online form requests the content of the attack on Obama; you can upload the email, file, link on the web or just type in what you heard.  The form wants to know if you heard it on a Forwarded E-mail, Website/Blog, Rumor, TV Interview, Public Statement, TV Ad, Radio Ad, or Robocall!!!

This should outrage everyone!!!  How do you like this hope and change?  Link below:

AMERICAN JOBS ACT EQUALS STIMULOUS 2

Republicans listening to Obama unveiling his new job plan September 8, 2011.
Obama's latest job scheme which should be named Stimulous 2, but which they cleverly named "American Jobs Act" was finally delivered to the American people in a deceptive politically-charged speech 5 days ago (September 8, 2011). Although he says he has had this plan since July and announced he would unveil his plan in a speech after his August vacation and the Labor Day holiday, today, September 12 he says he will finally deliver "a bill" to Congress tonight.

Today in another politically-charged speech in the White House Rose Garden mid-morning (while most of us are working) he said 'it must be passed immediately.'  He said in today's speech he heard a Republican say 'I don't know why we would want to cooperate with Obama now it's not very good for our politics'."  Does anyone believe that he heard that?  First of all, he said that he didn't hear all the offensive things Reverend Wright said in his church.  He said he didn't hear all the offensive things the Teamsters President James Hoffa said before announcing him at a rally of union members this past Labor Day. Secondly, it is just not the way people talk.

Who doesn't want to help create jobs in the country except him with his policies.  He is incapable of doing things to make the economy work simply because of his ideology. Stimulous 1 which passed without a single Republican vote was a complete failure which he admits, but his pundits and administration appointees keep saying it was a success.  How stupid do these people think we are?  He has spent money on "cash for clunkers" which brought automotive sales to complete halt after the program ended and a shortage in used cars that has driven up the prices of buying a used car for the middle class.  He gave tax credits to people for buying new energy efficient appliances and the market for those items collapsed also after the end of the program  (I didn't get one - didn't have the money for the appliance which we need).  He and his democrats passed ObamaCare without a single Republican vote - now all our insurance premiums have risen...we could go on and on about this one but anyone who reads my posts knows how I feel about ObamaCare from earlier posts.  All of this at the expense of us hard working tax payers.  He and his democrat-controlled congress passed Dodd-Frank financial reform which was a smoke screen to make it look like they were doing something about the mortgage crisis, which has caused banks to shed 60,000 jobs so far this year.  It did nothing to address the root cause of the mortgage crisis - government mandating banks to make sub-prime loans to people that couldn't afford it (another democrat mandate).  He put a moratorium on oil drilling and imposed new regulations which sent those jobs overseas; gave Brazil 2 billion to drill sending those jobs overseas; promoted the collapse of middle-east oil producing country dictators including involving us in a third war in Lybia.  Now we have gasoline up over 100% since he took office - it was approximately $1.70 when he took office. Business is scared to hire and spend money.

He added today, in his Rose Garden speech, that "this is not the time for politics"; "these are not games we're playing...the American people need jobs". Yes we do Mr. President, but you seem to be the one playing games and the politics of optics like you are doing something with a another stimulous rename policy.  Your pundits were out there today saying "Republicans ran on a platform to create jobs."  No, they ran on a platform to stop this insane spending and stop Obama policies which are killing jobs.  They have watched what your hope and change has done to this country and they know jobs can't really be created until you are out of office when your policies can be overturned.  See you on the campaign trail again tomorrow trashing Republicans for not passing "your plan" when they won't even get it until "tonight."  You already started this morning saying "almost all independent economists agree that this plan will create....blah, blah, blah"  There is no bill yet!  How stupid do you think we are?  So proceed with your blame game before you give the Republican Congress a bill you can blame on them for not passing.  We figured you out now.  This IS NOT THE TIME FOR POLITICS;  it's the time for adult leadership to really solve this problem.  Reagan (once a democrat) had to clean up after Carter's 1-term experiment/disaster for our country.  Perhaps our only hope for change now is that you will be voted out next November and this experiment will come to an end.

OBAMA FLEW BUSES TO EACH STATE FOR AUGUST "BUS TOUR"

I wanted to see the two new buses the American people bought for Obama for 2.2 million dollars from a company in Canada for his 3-day bus tour through "the heartland" mid-august.  We were told by the White House Press Secretary Jay Carney that the buses were necessary because “The president needs to get out in the country and meet with real folks in real places.”  There were 41 tax-payer provided SUV's and vans, police car escorts, and the two armor-plated buses in the motorcade (see video below).  One thing that struck me was the number of vans with no security lights.  Who were all these vans carrying?  It is my suspicion that they carried loyal democrats who were planted in the crowds to set the tone of the town halls for the other "sheeples" in attendance.  They would be chosen first to ask pre-screened questions and make comments that were favorable to Obama calming the crowds of some otherwise angry American citizens.

But here’s the thing: Apparently President Obama only rode the buses for a couple of miles at a time, spending the rest of the time flying from community to community in Air Force One. What’s more, the buses were flown from stop to stop as well.   The 2.2 million dollar buses built in Canada with 39 other vehicle entourage at tax-payer expense after Obama just threatened to withhold August social security payments because there might not be money in the coffers!

During these staged town halls, he and the entourage spent a three-day trip visiting Cannon Falls. Minnesota.  Decorah Iowa, and oh he made it to two cities in his home state of Illinois - Atkinson and Alpha.  It's all just optics - at our expense, when the media keeps bragging that he will have almost 1 billion dollars in his re-election campaign coffers.  But buses were all strategically arranged to put an image out there that he cares and wants to get out there with real people.  While we have been scorned for driving our SUV's by President Obama, I'm sure the 18 to 25 year-olds that have been manipulated into believing in "global warming" and propelled Obama into office will never hear this side of the story.

But who is surprised?  He said he visited 57 states before being elected in 2008 and since then, can't give a speech to 2nd graders without two teleprompters (not to mention a 3 minute speech yesterday to announce a new economic appointment disaster).

OBAMA HAS ANOTHER RELATIVE LIVING HERE ILLEGALLY

President Obama has another relative from Kenya living in the U.S. illegally.   He was arrested for DUI last week and had a federal immigration warrant out for his arrest to be deported back to Kenya.

Remember the story of Barack Obama’s illegal alien Aunt Zeituni who had mooched the system in Boston for public housing, welfare and food stamps for years. All while ignoring deportation orders and skipping immigration hearings, before a judge (in an unprecedented closed hearing) granted her asylum in May 2010.

You may recall that Obama’s Aunt wasn’t exactly humble or grateful about her experience:




Now is has been reported that Obama has another close relative in the U.S.  illegally who is gaming the system in Massachussetts. Onyango Obama, 67, is the “Uncle Omar” mentioned in the president’s book, “Dreams From My Father.” He is the brother of Zeituni and last week, “Uncle Omar” Obama was arrested in Framingham, Mass. for DUI when nearly colliding with a police car. The details:

Obama failed a field sobriety test after almost running his SUV into a police car in Framingham, Mass, near Boston. According to a police report, he rolled through a stop sign and then made a quick left turn, requiring the squad car and another vehicle to slam on their breaks to avoid hitting him.

And if there was any doubt about his connection with the President, “Uncle Omar” cleared that up right away when he was booked:

Framingham Public Information Officer Lieutenant Delaney said when Onyango Obama was asked at the station if he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, he replied: “I think I will call the White House.”

Uncle Obama has a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant for his arrest. ICE has previously ordered him to be deported back to Kenya…. Judge Douglas Stoddart did not set any bail on the driving charges but ordered him held on the ICE warrant.

Sound familiar? That is what Aunt Zeituni faced as well, minus the DUI of course. In fact, it has now been reported that “Uncle Omar” has retained Cleveland lawyer Margaret Wong – the same immigration attorney who successfully represented Mr. Obama’s sister Zeituni, when she managed to avoid deportation to Kenya. So will Obama’s Uncle get the same reward for his crimes as did Obama’s Aunt – asylum?

And what of Presidnet Obama’s recent order suspending the deportations of millions of illegal aliens? Will this apply to his own Uncle as well? And if so, is that express conflict of interest even legal under Federal law or ethics requirements?

OBAMA THREATENING TO WITHHOLD AUGUST SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS

Today Barack Obama said in an interview with CBS news that if a budget deal between the Democrats and Republicans is not reached by August 2nd, the $20 billion expected to go out in social security payments the following day may not go out. Obama said, “I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue.  Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it."

This is such bull!  The federal government receives 72 billion in social security tax revenue each month (this includes Medicare/Medicaid taxes taken out of our paychecks too)!!!  That is almost 4 times the amount Obama states he needs for the month of the August 3, 2011 distribution.

According to Wikkepedia, "During FY 2010, the federal government collected approximately $2.16 trillion in tax revenue. Primary receipt categories included individual income taxes (42%), Social Security/Social Insurance taxes (40%), and corporate taxes (9%) Other types included excise, estate and gift taxes."

Excuse me, Mr. President, we have worked hard all our lives and paid money into social security/medicare/medicaid.  Back in the eighties and nineties we were told Congress was putting it in a "lock box" so they couldn't spend it.  Are you admitting that you have already spent our August 2011 distributions?  THIS SHOULD OUTRAGE EVERYONE AS IT DOES ME.  He is holding social security recipients hostage so he can get tax increases in a debt raising deal so they can spend more money!!!  Call the White House and demand that Obama keep the federal government promise to social security recipients: Comments:  202-456-1111. TEXAS LEGISLATION YOU SUE YOU PAY

This is one of the most important and greatest victories for this state, for our country and for all of us.  Can you imagine how many businesses this will affect in a positive way?  Can you imagine how many people that want to sue a company won't now; you loose you pay all court and attorney fees for everyone!  A GREAT PIECE OF LEGISLATION!  THANK YOU TEXAS CONGRESS!  Texas has never had "state taxes" and this is just one more reason for businesses to move to Texas.  The Obama administration is surely to challenge it soon.

WHO HAS THE GUTS TO TAKE IT TO OBAMA?

You know what I like about Donald Trump?  He doesn't accept the premise that Obama puts forth and the national media follows.   He challenged Obama that he was born in Hawaii and took the challenge to the media and to Obama until Obama gave in.  Where is a candidate to bring this kind of passion to the more important issues by bringing them to the forefront?  Why is it that we must accept the premise of statements made by Obama which are regurgitated by the media?


Obama and the media say over and over, Obama "inherited this mess."  I have listened to Republicans agree with this statement.  Where is someone to stand up and say that is a bunch of Obama Bull!  Unemployment was in the 6 percent range in the October BEFORE OBAMA WAS ELECTED!  Employment went into a free fall AFTER HE WAS ELECTED; it was his promise to raise the taxes on small businesses and the job creators in this country that sent it into a free fall!


Obama blamed Bush, Republican policies and greedy banks for the Mortgage crisis and the media happily regurgitated it.  Where is someone to stand up and say that WAS a lie!  Now we know the sub-prime mortgage crisis was due to liberal policies of intervention into mortgage lending, setting goals with lavish bonuses for Fannie and Freddie for providing mortgages to those with bad credit scores. Due to President Clinton's 1992 Affordable Housing Act, banks were forced to lend to people they wouldn't otherwise lend to.

And these are the liberal democrats during Bush's Presidency defending these policies when the Republicans were holding hearings to warn of an impending mortgage crisis; the liberal line:  all was fine and Fannie and Freddie are "meeting their goals" (remember the liberal goal is to force banks to give mortgages to those that would not otherwise qualify).  You will even hear Liberal Democrat Maxine Waters referring to President Clinton's bill here, and President Clinton himself admitting (in his usual way) fault of "democrats":

We were told by Obama that we must pass ObamaCare in order to bring an end to the recession. Obama said health insurance costs were too high and if we didn't pass this bill now they would continue to rise. Obama said this bill would drop insurance premiums an average of $2500. The media happily regurgitated this and both mocked the people screaming against this bill.  Well guess what, unemployment skyrocketed to over 10% after the passage of this bill and every one's health insurance went up!  More Obama-Bull!  Well, I won't be so nice on this one, it was a LIE.  Where is that someone to stand up and take it to Obama!


We were told by Obama that we must pass a stimulus of almost a trillion dollars or unemployment would rise over 8 percent.  Obama now laughs about its failure.  Who will stand up and give him hell on this issue?


Who has the guts to cut the bloated Federal Government spending?   It won't be Obama.  We need a fiscal conservative to stand up and  run the federal budget like we all have to run our family budgets; we can't spend more than we take in.  Bush started this excess spending and Obama has almost tripled the concept of spending without cutting.  Shame on all of you that proposed and passed these budgets.  And don't fall for the premise that you have to cut Social Security and Medicare to do this!!!  Don't buy into the bull that your firefighters, police and teachers will need to be cut.  That is a liberal ploy (Obama and media) to scare.  There is so much waste in the government it could be cut tomorrow and no one would even notice (Shrimp on Treadmills, Government Limos, duplication between agencies, fraud, mandated goals and spending by departments)!  If Obama had tried to balance the federal budget upon coming into office, he would have had to cut about 500 billion.  This would have been a cut of 20% on average for each of the departments. Obama didn't cut, he increased - typical liberal policies!  Obama has mishandled the federal budget and these are his policies that caused us to be in the situation we are in.


We need a President and First Lady that will lead by cutting spending.  Playing golf and taking vacations that cost the American people money isn't what we need right now.   Trips to other countries at this point veiled in relations improvement are insulting and economically expensive to us (i.e. Michelle's currently in Africa to "build relations").  Okay, I didn't have a problem with some at the beginning of this presidency but now they have gotten out of control.  Who will stand up and point this out that their travels have cost millions if not billions in a time we need to reduce federal spending.


Who will stand up for us, our children, grandchildren and future generations and get rid of this debt and deficit?  Who will take this country back and yes, I said back - Obama said we're not going back, we're going forward.  Yes, we need to move forward but in a totally different direction than Obama is taking us (but actually going back to the 4-6% unemployment under Bush and $2.50 gas sounds good about right now).

Speaking of gas, Obama puts a moratorium on drilling for oil, took an expensive trip with a huge entourage to Brazil to try to get them to drill for oil while we are sitting on enough oil for decades and now releases the national strategic oil reserve due to "a shortage of oil."  Nothing Obama does makes any sense.

Donald Duck should win against Obama.  But someone has to have the guts to take it to him and the national media and stop accepting their premises.  Put Obama and the media on the offensive like Donald Trump did on a simple issue such as his birth certificate.

73% INCREASE IN LIMOS SINCE OBAMA ELECTED

Hillary's State Department budget was 51.7 billion! in Obama's 2010 budget.  This was an increase of 40.9% over the 2009 Federal Budget for this department!  Limousines, the very symbol of wealth and excess, are usually the symbol of corporate executives and the rich. But the number of limos owned by the government increased by 73 percent during the first two years of the Obama administration.

Most of the increase was recorded in Hillary Clinton’s State Department. Obama administration officials said most of the increase reflects an enhanced effort to protect diplomats and other government officials in a dangerous world. But a watchdog group says the abundance of limos sends the wrong message in the midst of a budget crisis. The increase in limos comes to light on the heels of an executive order from President Obama last week that charges agencies to increase the fuel efficiency of their fleets.
According to General Services Administration data , the number of limousines in the federal fleet increased from 238 in fiscal 2008, the last year of the George W. Bush administration, to 412 in 2010. Much of the 73 percent increase—111 of the 174 additional limos—took place in fiscal 2009, more than eight months of which corresponded with Obama’s first year in office.

SHRIMP ON TREADMILL PAID FOR BY TAXPAYERS

National Science Foundation has an annual budget of 7 billion dollars and this is one of the projects our taxpayers dollars are funding:  $500,000 to study a shrimp on a treadmill.  Unbelievable!!!

The National Science Foundation is being given too much money if it can afford to fund experiments that involve putting shrimp on treadmills or creating laundry-folding robots, grumbles Sen. Tom Coburn. The Oklahoma Republican has released a report criticizing the agency, which receives some $7 billion in federal funding a year, for wasting billions of dollars through mismanagement and by funding studies of questionable value, ABC News reports.

Scientists, however, say Coburn's report oversimplifies and misrepresents their research. The shrimp-on-a-treadmill study was part of an examination of how marine animals will cope with increased environmental stress, and the laundry-folding robot mocked in Coburn's report was part of a project to create robots that can interact with complex objects. "I sympathize with the desire to identify things that are silly and not useful," a researcher tells LiveScience. "But I'm not sure he's identified a really practical strategy to distinguish between the two."

I have never been to a "Tea Party" but have wanted to go just to show my support of their ideas to our government officials who are not listening.  I'm sure there are millions more just like me.  Who cannot support what they are all about?  TEA stands for "Taxed Enough Already";  IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THOSE THAT MAKE $250,000 and over in annual pay as Obama wants to frame it.  My family doesn't fall into that category.  It is also our everyday taxes: food and clothing taxes, gas taxes, taxes on all our utility bills: water, electric, natural gas, phones; property and school taxes, taxes for driving and buying a car, homes, appliances, etc.  TAXES, TAXES, TAXES - they have reached into everything we buy and use and then want to grab again in April for their coffers.  The Tea Party says Stop Increasing Spending and Start Cutting, Stop Creating New Programs and Agencies!  WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?


President Obama stated in his week-and-a-half-late-speech to the American people on our Libyan intervention, that this evil dictator (Giddafi) called his people "rats."   Obama says race is a key component in the Tea Party; so he is calling Americans "racists."  An elder New York Democratic Senator (Chuck Shummer) was caught on-microphone when he thought he was "off" saying that he was "instructed to call the Tea Party 'extremists',"  and this weekend the same Senator said 'the Tea Party is a flea on the tale of a dog, and the tale is the Republican party and the dog is the Government'. So now Americans are being called fleas.   I think the Tea Party must be like a tick that has gotten under the skin of Obama and the Democrats!  What is so extreme about wanting to cut spending and live on the money you bring in from the American people which is too much already.  LIVE WITHIN YOUR BUDGET LIKE WE FLEAS HAVE TOO!  I say hats off to you fleas!


I have about 10% a month in discretionary spending and when I need to cut back I cut there.  In February of 2009 President Obama submitted his budget for 2010 as required by law.  (I cannot give you figures from the 2011 budget because it was never enacted by his democratic congress for some reason and is why we have had the week-to-week budget funding arguments since January of 2011.)  The 2010 U.S. Federal Budget had about 60% of what they call "mandatory spending" (Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Compensation, Welfare, and Interest on the National Debt);  it had about 40% of what they call "discretionary spending." which was an increase of 13.1% over the 2009 federal budget. The State Department had an increase of a whopping 40.9% over 2009 (this is Hillary Clinton's Department)!  The Department of Commerce had an even bigger increase of 48.4%!!!  There was even $5 billion allocated for a new government bank: "the National Infrastructure Bank" which is proposed legislation and hasn't even been passed by Congress yet.  They even allocated 105 billion dollars on "OTHER." This amount is more than any other department except defense. Defense is explicitly mandated by the Constitution.  What power they must feel to spend us into oblivion and call Americans fleas when all the fleas want is for them to spend within their means.  Unbelievable!

OBAMA SPEAKS ON LIBYA

How do you like this hope and change?   Change is that an American President commits American forces into a war with another Muslim country without addressing the American people at the onset.  In his speech tonight to finally address the American people after 9 days into this new war, he said he made a statement that the Libyian dictator, Gaddafi must go over 3 weeks ago and then Gaddafii started cutting off water to his people and killing his people.   Obama does not realize the power of American words, intervention and power.   Hello, Obama - you said Gaddafi must go doesn't make it so.  And a no-fly zone really didn't do anything.  They were not shooting their people from planes but from ground troops!  Now what?  Vice President Biden came out before the President's speech tonight with a smile from ear to ear and did a dance in front of an audience of our military - an audience instead of an address from the oval office to the American people?  I think we have amatures in the White House.  Former defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said over the weekend that now that we are involved and there in Lybia, the worse case is that Gaddafi doesn't go and then he becomes another Saddam Hussein as in Iraq bragging that he is still in power and defeated the super power USA (first President Bush, Margret Thacher, etc).


After President Obama's speech tonight, MSNBC went on a tangent to attack the remarks from Newt Gingrinch and others at a Republican event this weekend instead of analyzing this speech by President Obama. That is strange and I guess they haven't figured out how to defend Obama yet.


I guess the White House will be asking for us to forward e-mails in opposition to their policy to them like he did over the opposition to his health care policy.  Did you hear last week they have assigned the former Press Secretary to monitor the internet?

REMEMBER THAT GREAT FIRST-TIME HOME BUYER TAX CREDIT....

Was filling out our income tax return and just had to laugh:

"If you claimed the first-time home buyer credit for a home purchased in 2008, you must begin repayment of the credit on your 2010 income tax return.  Also if you claimed the first-time home buyer credit on a prior year return and that home is no longer your main home, this credit may be subject to immediate recapture."

OMG!!!  How many first time home buyers do you think read the fine print on this!  I feel sorry for them.

When I heard about this back then, I knew it was unfair to single out particular groups for a tax credit.  Why just first-time home buyers, why not all home buyers?  But that is the way our government has been working for about the last 60 years.  But now we find out it really wasn't a tax credit at all - it was a SCAM by our federal government to to get people to buy homes! And probably used the young people (first time buyers) because seasoned home buyers would have figured this out.  They are giving the first time home buyer 10 years to repay it - how many will stay in their home that long? I am tired of TAX CREDITS!  Just don't tax us in the first place!!!

I've had it!!!  The government first has to takith away - to givith!  And now they givith and then takith away!  Is your head spinning yet?

MICHELLE OBAMA CALLING FOR PARENTS TO MISLEAD THEIR CHILDREN

This one is unbelievable; maybe I am being too generous in saying she is calling for parents to 'mislead' instead of using the word 'lie" to their children.  How would a parent like it if their child was late and said he got a flat tire on his bike when really he just let the air out of his tire so he could spend more time with friends.  Parents:  her suggestions here are immoral and encourage untrust between parent and child.  Secondly, I cannot believe our government is ADVERTISING for their programs - I have seen them all over my local television stations -health care, etc.....calling them "PSA's" (Public Service Announcement's).  I call them DDS's (Dumbing Down Society) paid for by the American people.


Michelle Obama said the following 3 days ago on an interview with Tom Joyner:


"The PSAs we launched this week provide some really cute tips for parents.  And they're going to start airing on 33,000 media outlets over the next several weeks, and they're going to continue for several months.  But they give parents some cute tips, like turn off the power in your house. Not that everybody can do that, but that's just one of the commercials. And the kids are like, oh, we can’t play our video games. And then they decide to go outside and play.

And another ad - the mom makes the kid go up and down the stairs several times looking for her purse which she knows where it is - (Laughter) and just making her go up and down and up and down the stairs a few times before she gives her the dollar she’s looking for.

So we have to be creative as parents, particularly in the African-American communities where we don't have sports leagues. We don't have - it’s not safe to play outside sometimes because our neighborhoods - we don't have the kind of safety net that we need, so we have to start sharing with each other tips because there are communities all over the country that are running into these issues. And we, as parents, have to get creative because the option of just letting our kids sit is significantly affecting their health in a negative way. So we are born to move."

'They will stop playing their video games and go outside' - well someone had to buy them the video game instead of the sport uniform - much easier than taking them to the practices and games - PARENTS FAULT!

And surely children that sit in front of the TV will see the PSA's!

Michelle, this would have been my message:


If you are a parent or guardian, get involved with your children in activities:  Boy and Girl scouts, Church activities and athletics are available for all.  Get outside and play with your children - mine love to play ball outside with us - whether the back yard, front yard or in the street we are there with them playing together.  Take them to a neighborhood park and let them run around and play on the slides, swings, etc.; when a parent is with them you don't have to worry about them.  And children, ask your parents to come outside with you to play or to enroll you in the YMCA sports programs!

AS WE LOOK TO THE FUTURE

I attended another funeral for one of our Greatest Generation.  A 95 year-old gentleman...one of those who fought through World War II, endured the Great Depression and contributed to this great country to make the United States of America a great nation. 


We are the next generation.  What do we want this country to look like?  We are in a situation which is similar to that which the Greatest Generation of our time faced.  They believed in this great country and its founding principles.  They worked hard to make money to support their families; whatever it took.  I remember my own mother from this generation saying that they were so poor at one point that they would have qualified for "food stamps" but they didn't partake in that - that generation worked to overcome hardships.

 President Clinton, of the "me generation" (no offense to those of you from that generation) has said that 'one of their biggest mistakes was sending food to countries and it only lasts for a short amount of time.  They should have taught the people of those countries how to grow crops, and produce milk, etc'  This concept seems so basic:  Give a man a fish and he will eat for day, teach a man to fish and he eats forever.   President Kennedy famously said, "Ask not what what your country can to do for you but what you can do for your country."  Today, we have even more government assistance programs from all areas - with people with their hands out.  This is making us a nation where people don't want to contribute and make money for themselves.  There are government programs for for free food, help for home payments, help for cell phones, etc.


The Greatest Generation brought us a nation of people who freely donated to help those less fortunate than themselves.  Today the government is taking from us to provide the services that once were donations from a caring generation.  Innovation and eutropeaurialship made this country stronger than any other country on earth in only over 200 years.  The greatest generation tried to leave these traditions (and constitution) for our generation, their grandchildren and great grandchildren just as the generations before them did.  We must refuse this governmental take over our country for entitlement programs if we want to feel proud of our own accompishments and the good feeling we get from donating to those less fortunate (used to be called charities but now they are referred to by the government as "non-governmental organizations or NGO's").  They want to take from and us and redistribute as they see fit instead of the system of charitible giving that has worked so well for us until this point.

MANIPULATION OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

President Obama is pivoting.  That is why his poll numbers are increasing.  If he gets another term we are in big trouble without him worrying about another re-election.  He already threw our democrats under the bus with his Stimulus (that had to pass or unemployment would go over 8%  - we have been over 10% since this was passed).  He threw our democrats under the bus with this Health Care Bill.  He told everyone to forward e-mails that disagreed with this Health Care policy.  What is next?  Cas Sunstein, mentioned as a likely Obama nominee to the Supreme Court, Sunstein is currently Obama’s head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs where, among other things, he is responsible for “overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs.” In 2008, while at Harvard Law School, Sunstein co-wrote a truly pernicious paper proposing that the U.S. Government employ teams of covert agents and pseudo-”independent” advocates to “cognitively infiltrate” online groups and websites — as well as other activist groups — which advocate views that Sunstein deems “false conspiracy theories” about the Government. This would be designed to increase citizens’ faith in government officials and undermine the credibility of conspiracists.


As Cas Sunstein said, “Once we know that people are human and have some Homer Simpson in them, then there’s a lot that can be done to manipulate that.”

REPEAL NATIONAL HEALTH CARE LAW

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is a big day and action is required on our part.  Please forward to people in other states. The nation voted-in over 60 Republicans to repeal the new health care law.  The media says it won't pass the senate.  There are dozens of Democratic senators that will be up for re-election that voted for this bill and we need to take another step by contacting our senator and letting them know we want this health care  law repealed.  Call the White House too.  This can happen with your help.  Let's start over with a more "civil" and bi-partisan bill that doesn't include the Corn-husker kickback, the Louisiana purchase and things we don't even know that is in it until after they passed it.  We already have over 100 companies that have asked to be exempted from the legislation and they have been granted that by the government.  Let us replace this with a new more "civilized" and more compassionate legislation that actually reduces health care costs and health insurance costs.

PRESIDENT GOES TO COLLEGE CAMPUS FOR MEMORIAL SERVICE

As I watched the Memorial Service for those that died in Tuscan, Arizona, I became even more upset at the politic ism of the death of others. The Memorial Service which the President of The United States decided to attend was at a college campus, not a church where a proper Memorial Service should be held (such as the church service after September 11, 2001 where preachers of different faiths tried to heal and comfort a nation).  Instead we got an inappropriate pep-rally by a cheering college crowd over the death and injuries caused by a mentally-ill person  Call me old-fashioned, but the President could have held a proper Memorial Service at a proper place where cheering, yelling and standing ovations would not have prevailed.  From the very beginning, the attendees received a t-shirt which stated, "Together We Thrive."   Instead of hearing from a comforting preacher we heard from a man who said 'I am a Mexican (cheering!) with Indian heritage trying to get an education (cheering!)'.  He said let's work toward harmony and balance.  "Oh Creator" was repeated over and over again in his speech with cheering from the crowd.   The president of the university spoke and said "Will this make us a more caring world?" and "Fortunately we have great leadership to help us with this tonight."  He continued "They tried to silence our voices, but we won't be silenced..."    "Out of Many One...we all became Arizonans, we all became Americans."     Became Americans?  We had our Homeland Security Secretary and our U.S. Attorney General speak.  It was very political.


When the Republican Arizona Governor (whom the Obama administration is suing over their illegal-immigration law) spoke and said "we also lost Christina Taylor Green" the crowd exploded into a huge applause.  Is it just me, or was that just not the right time to cheer and applaud for a dead 9-year old girl?
 
Am I the only one that believes that all of this was set up to make the President's speech look civil?  His speech was civil in comparison to what we had heard from the speakers before him at this Memorial Service or from the national media for nearly week prior to the President's speech at the Memorial Service.


That being said, The President of the United States, said 'our discourse is so polarized that we too easily lay the blame on those that think differently than we do'.  Who is he talking to with this statement: - "than we do"?  Is he acknowledging that this is a liberal audience of his piers when it was suppose to be a Memorial Service for those lost.  Was he chastising the liberal media?  I don't think so.   The Arizona sheriff, the national media and Democrats had laid the blame for this shooting all week on the rhetoric from the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Fox News and in general "talk radio" without The President saying a word to stop it.

The ironic thing is that today's politics had nothing to do with this insane mad-man.  He had this planned since 2007.  However, watching the sheriff and media it was as though they had been waiting on a incident such as this to blast the Tea Party, etc.

Today on the Sunday talk shows, the national media interviewed Democrats who tried to act civil for a change.  The liberal media inquired "what is going to happen with this 'new tone in Washington'.  It is a political stunt to make it look like the political discourse did have something to do with the shootings.  This call for civility is in direct response as they were unable to tie the cause of the shootings to the Tea Party, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck and Fox News.  And in the aftermath, we must all now act civilly.  Of course, Fox News Sunday must not have got the message as they went ahead with normal programing instead of the love fest the other national Sunday programs had with the Democrats.


After the do-nothing stimulus, Cambridge police acted stupidly, take-over of auto companies, we have to pass the Health care bill so we can find out what is in it (which drove up the cost of health care and health insurance), we have our boot on the throat of BP, and a moratorium and new regulations on oil drilling which is driving up the cost of energy,  I think the 2012 election campaigning has begun with We Need Civility after nearly a decade of bush-bashing and culminating in the most vicious week of incivility by an Arizona sheriff, the national media, Democrats and a Memorial Service where cheering, standing ovations and politics replaced a dignified service for those that were lost at the hands of a mad-man.  Shame on you, President Obama.
